Have you ever been to East Point, GA? Surely you’ve driven through it on your way to or from the airport, or on the way to or from your Florida beach vacation. Have you ever stopped to look around? Just 15 minutes south of downtown Atlanta, East Point is loaded with small town charm and big city amenities.

Get To Know East Point

East Point was established in 1847 as a railway terminus and while the city has evolved since then, its growth and development have been planned with the intention to retain the unique and inclusive neighborly charm for which they’ve become known. At Rockhaven Homes, we understand that commitment. When we build a home, we do so with recognition that each home we create will become an extension of the people who live in them.

Atlanta Magazine recently published 5 Reasons to Love East Point and we have to agree. With proximity to Hartsfield Jackson International – the World’s Busiest Airport – and to large corporations like Amazon, Chick-Fil-A, Facet Medical Technologies, and many more, there’s certainly a strong job market but what else happens in East Point?

Walk Along The Tree Lined Streets

East Point’s renewed main street and downtown are loaded with exciting things to see and do with walkable tree-lined streets, filled with wonderful restaurants and lounges. East Point boasts 23 parks, with a recreation center, playgrounds, a tennis court, sand volleyball, basketball courts, and hiking trails. A few other things you’ll find in East Point:

  • Summer Wednesday Wind Down – On the 4th Wednesday of every month in the downtown commons with a headliner and local bands. Stroll the area and hang with friends old and new.
  • East Point Farmers Market – Every Wednesday from 4-7 pm, behind the new city hall. Find sustainably locally grown produce and hand-crafted, high-quality products directly from the source. Just beyond, look for the Food Truck Court
  • Dick Lane Velodrome– used during the 1996 Olympics, this wonder is the only Velodrome in the world with green space and a creek. This place is also home to the Bicycle Little League, summer camps, and bicycle safety clinics.
  • Windmill Arts Center – A complete world of arts nestled in East Point, this facility features music, performing arts, theater, and special events all in one place. Surrounded by a wide array of dining and entertainment options, you can make a whole day of it.
