Wine Tasting

Enjoy some wine and delicious food with the Whole Foods crew. On Thursday, June 6th, visit the Roswell Road Whole Foods for a wine tasting. Cost of entry is $10, which gets you a wine glass and drinks, as well as some tasty Severino pasta. For local wine enthusiasts, bring your friends for a grape date.

Take it to the River Lantern Parade

This parade is glowing to be great! On Saturday, June 5th, comes the fourth annual Sandy Springs Take it to the River lantern parade. Bring your own lantern and march in the parade of lights. If you haven’t made one yet, there are plenty of do-it-yourself workshops leading up to the event.

Weekly Farmers Market

Until December, walk down and spend your Saturday mornings enjoying the Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market. Have a biscuit and coffee, listen to live music, and enjoy shopping for local food and specialty items. Say hi to your neighbors and support the local people who grow your food!

Stand Up for the Hooch Race

If you’re looking for some serious outdoor fun, don’t miss this standing paddle board race on the river. The Stand Up for the Hooch race is back on June 23, and this year the long course is open to watercraft other than paddle boards. Boards are available for rent at the race venue. Kids ages 6-12 can race, too. Be sure to register, bring the family and get ready to start paddling. 

Friday Night Movie Hike

For a more laid-back outdoor activity, with a prize at the end for everyone, enjoy a weekly Flashlight Friday urban hike and movie night. Join the Heritage Sandy Springs Outdoor Club for a 3-mile urban hike starting and ending at the Sandy Springs Cinema and Taphouse. Reward yourself after the hike with a ticket for the evening’s feature flick and a cold brew. Just don’t forget to bring your own flashlight.
